SUMMER 2025 - Increased Flight Program: 39 weekly departures to 15 popular vacation destinations, TUI flight capacity increased by ten percent
The signs for a successful summer 2025 are good: TUI is currently 17 percent up from the previous summer in terms of passenger volume for flights from Salzburg. “Holidays have long been more than just a nice change of pace - they are a basic need. A break from everyday life to unwind, relax, gather new impressions and broaden one's horizons. Whether as a family to consciously spend time together or alone to clear your head - relaxation for mind and soul is more important today than ever,” emphasizes Bettina Ganghofer, Managing Director of the airport. “Many people are now feeling the desire to get out again, change their perspective and discover foreign countries. People are browsing through catalogs, looking for good offers online and visiting travel agencies. And with a summer full of sun, beaches and new experiences, nothing stands in the way of a family vacation or a personal break,” Ganghofer continues.
The desire for sunshine, the beach and seaside is currently high: the TUI reservations for the first summer departures to Rhodes, Larnaca and Hurghada last weekend from Salzburg Airport were booked up to the last seat. The successful start to the Greek season continues with the first departures to Kos and Crete on May 7 and 11 respectively. With its extensive summer flight program, TUI offers its guests in Salzburg and the surrounding area a short and relaxed journey to 15 vacation destinations in eight countries. In total, the market leader has up to 39 weekly departures from Salzburg in its program, 31 of which are operated with its flight partner Eurowings.
“With an expanded range of flights from Salzburg, we are offering our guests the most popular summer vacation destinations,” said Gottfried Math, Managing Director of TUI Austria, at a press conference at Salzburg Airport. “With the convenient departure directly from the home airport and the wide range of TUI hotels on site, we meet exactly the criteria that are important to our guests on their vacation trip,” Math continues. The trend remains focused on beach vacations in the countries around the Mediterranean. An additional connection to Mallorca and four more weekly routes to Antalya will create even more flexibility for TUI guests in summer 2025. The capacities of the flight program have also been increased by ten percent. “Anyone who has not yet booked should be quick now,” adds Math: ”We are optimistic that we will fill the additional seats quickly.”

When it comes to the best-booked vacation destinations for TUI guests, Greece is once again in the lead. Eleven weekly departures take guests from Salzburg to six Greek islands: Karpathos, Zakynthos, Corfu, Kos, Rhodes and Crete. Spain is the second most popular vacation destination in the TUI ranking. Eurowings takes TUI guests to the vacation island of Majorca ten times a week - in some cases several times a day - and to Ibiza twice a week. In third place in the vacation country ranking is Turkey: due to high demand, the Turkish Riviera around Antalya will be served seven times a week this summer - four times with Corendon and three times with Pegasus Airlines. Other popular sun destinations from Salzburg are Larnaca in Cyprus, Sardinia with Olbia and Calabria with Lamezia Terme, Hurghada in Egypt with three weekly departures, Monastir in Tunisia with one weekly departure from June 4, as well as Burgas on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Italy and Egypt take fourth and fifth place in TUI's ranking of the best-booked vacation destinations.
