Flight tracks visible to everyone! With WebTrak and InsightFull, it is possible to provide even more information to the public.
Since 2015, Salzburg Airport has been publishing flight paths on its website. These are radar data provided by Austro Control GmbH.
The introduction of WebTrak in the summer of 2025 is part of the airport's environmental and neighborhood dialogue and aims to contribute to an objective and data-driven discussion about aircraft noise and traffic load.

This has set a new technical standard for tracking and processing flight paths and noise levels. Until now, it was 'only' possible to present flight paths as a static image. With the new system, each individual flight can be tracked 'live' as a moving image with just one hour of time delay. The new system not only graphically depicts flight paths, but also provides information on flight number, registration, aircraft type, altitude, and flight direction. Additionally, the associated noise measurement values recorded by the six fixed measurement stations around Salzburg Airport are overlaid onto the flight paths.
If additional questions or suggestions arise, a special inquiry form has been implemented in the system for the user. This allows the opportunity to direct an inquiry to Salzburg Airport GmbH regarding a selected flight.
The platform provides interactive, georeferenced data that is directly tailored to the entered location. Users can enter their address and then receive location-specific information about air traffic. For each day and month, it is possible to see how many flight movements took place, at what altitude they flew, and which types of aircraft were in operation – whether commercial airliners, business jets, helicopters, or training flights. Exceptional or special flights are also clearly explained. The data is presented in illustrative graphics that provide clarity and help make developments and trends visible. The offer is complemented by informative videos that explain, among other things, the runway in Salzburg, the regional airspace, as well as the generation and measurement of aircraft noise. In this way, InsightFull provides a transparent source of information that makes airport operations comprehensible for local residents and helps prevent misunderstandings.
