Flight connections are a lifeline for the economy and tourism / Worldwide connections within the Lufthansa network / Frankfurt is an international financial center and one of the world's leading economic cities
One of the most important flight connections from Salzburg will receive additional flight frequencies: starting next summer, Lufthansa will fly up to five times a day from Salzburg to the Hessian financial metropolis of Frankfurt am Main. "The flight connection between Salzburg and Frankfurt is an essential lifeline for the regional economy, industry, and global tourism. As our airport's most important hub connection, it not only offers a direct link to Germany's economic center, but also opens up a gateway to the world for our passengers. The eagerly awaited increase in flight frequencies to up to five times a day is an important signal for Salzburg as a location," says airport CEO Bettina Ganghofer. The Lufthansa route plays a central role for the business location and for the strategic development of Salzburg Airport as the region's central transport infrastructure.
This flight connection is invaluable for the international network of Salzburg's economy, especially for the export-oriented Salzburg industries. The connection is highly appreciated by both business travelers and vacationers alike due to the wide range of connecting flights available. The rapid transport also offers more opportunities in the area of air cargo. Thanks to this additional connection, the service improves by significantly reducing transfer times in Frankfurt, thus offering more attractive connections, especially to the long-haul network. This enables faster and more comfortable onward travel to numerous international destinations. With this addition, Salzburg Airport is further expanding its position as an important transportation hub and offering travelers even more attractive connections to destinations around the world.
