We inform passengers and visitors about the hygiene and distance rules against Covid-19 by means of posters in the entrance areas of the airport terminal, but also within the terminal the rules are pointed out at critical points with various information carriers.
Tip: Please be at the airport two hours before departure. Keep the required documents such as ID / passport, proof of corona status (vaccination / recovery / test) or country-specific evidence as an entry requirement in hand luggage!
The respective country rules apply to entry into the destination area:
The documents required for entry in the destination country (e.g. online registration, health certificates such as vaccination pass, PCR test result) are checked directly at the check-in counter in Salzburg. Passengers who can check-in online and who do not check in baggage can also have their documents checked at the check-in counter or, alternatively, present them at the boarding gate. We recommend that all passengers have their documents to hand at all times.
We kindly ask you to keep a minimum distance of one meter to both other passengers and our employees. To make this easier for your, floor markings have been applied – especially in the lifts and the queuing areas (check-in, boarding pass control, baggage claim).
Although we have adapted our infrastructure and processes at the airport in order to facilitate keeping a physical distance, there may be times, when you experience a gathering of people, which may make it difficult to keep the distancing rule of one meter.
We ask you to wear your mouth-nose protection (FFP2) in all indoor areas. Wearing mouth-nose protection is also required in passenger busses, airport vehicles and on the aircraft. We kindly ask you to bring your own protection mask (except for children under 6 years of age as well as persons who must not wear a FFP2 mask for health reasons).
Our staff is required to wear a mouth-nose protection in the terminal, except for areas, where there is a mechanical protection (f.e. plexiglass panel) available at check-in-desks, information desks or the gates.
In addition to various billboards and displays, we make regular announcements to inform our passengers and visitors about the required rules of conduct. You will also find information in front of the entrances to the terminal as well as on our social media channels.
All work places, work equipment as well as the terminal are cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis. The handles in our passenger busses are disinfected after each use. You will find disinfectant dispensers in the terminal in the check-in area as well as right after the security control. In order to be able to disinfect the containers for your hand luggage, you will find disinfecting tissues at the security lanes.
To rule out a corona infection, tests for symptom-free people are possible at Salzburg Airport. The Covid-19 test station is located in the check-in hall and is accessible to both arriving passengers and people who want to be tested. In the case of departing people, it is recommended to take the test two days before the start of the journey so that the result is available in good time. The price of the PCR test is €150. Until further notice, antigen tests can be carried out free of charge as part of our "operational test route". Please note the administrative effort and come to the registration no later than 15 minutes before the counter closes.
Returning travelers from Cyprus need proof of complete immunization (proof of vaccination), recovery or a valid PCR test when entering Austria. If you cannot show this, you have to register directly at the airport upon arrival and subject it to a PCR test on the test street. On arrival you will receive a voucher with which you can be tested free of charge at Salzburg Airport during opening hours.
