Marsa Alam offers romantic nights in the desert, a nearly intact underwarter world, first class service in luxurious hotels and lots of sun throughout the year. The former fishing village is located about 270 kilometers south of Hurghada. The region around Marsa Alam is also called the Red Sea Riviera and can be reached from Salzburg after a four hours flight.
“For the people in Salzburg and Bavaria it is not only important that the economy and the tourism industry in the region are stimulated, but also to have flight connections allowing them to discover foreign countries. We are very glad that we are operating services with our partner ETI to Marsa Alam starting April 4th 2020”, says Christopher Losmann, Head of Aviation & Sales, Salzburg Airport.
The airport is fairly small and situated near Port Glhalib. Marsa Alam Airport was opened in 2001 and is about 60 kilometers from Marsa Alam. For entering Egypt you only need a passport, which has to be valid for at least six more months. Children need a passport with a current photograph. In addition a tourist visa is needed, which you can purchase directly at the airport for $ 25.
The former fishing village in the South of Egypt is ideal for diving and relaxing. You will find numerous dive sites revealing rare treasures of the Red Sea. One of the most popular diving locations is Port Ghalib. The hotels along the beach are well equipped and offer diving courses for both beginners and pros.
