Traffic results 2011: More passengers, less movements

The airport managers Ing. Roland Hermann and Mag. Karl-Heinz Bohl announced the traffic figures 2011:

Despite the three per cent decrease to 19,548 take-offs and landings for commercial traffic (liner and charter), passenger volume rose 4.6 per cent to 1.701 million persons. “In Salzburg a trend towards the use of bigger aircraft can be viewed“, the managers of the Salzburg Airport said.

Salzburg Airport registered a declining cargo business last year. Including truck replacement transportations, freight throughput declined 9.5 per cent to 9,427 tons. As for flown cargo a 9.7 per cent-increase to 168.7 tons was registered.
