15.12.2017: Bettina Ganghofer, CEO Salzbrg Airport, recieves EASA certificate for Austrias biggest regional Airport

bmvit certifies airport/ required standards were realized/ airport manual defines regulations

Yesterday it finally happened: Bettina Ganghofer, CEO of Salzburg Airport and Michael Günther, Divisional Manager Airport Operations, received the official EASA-certification document, like all other Austrian airports.

Bettina Ganghofer, CEO Salzburg Airport:” We would like to thank the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology for the good and constructive cooperation. We are very happy that Salzburg Airport was able to fully meet all requirements for this certification according the European standards”.

EASA is the European Aviation Safety Agency, which was founded in 2002 with its head office in Cologne. Their task is to check safety and security at airports aiming at defining consistent standards for all technical facilities and for the operational organization in order to increase safety of all passengers at European airports even more. The official requirements and regulations for all work areas have been documented in a comprehensive manual, which is used as a guideline for all procedures of daily work processes. The Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology certifies the airport that any requirements for the certification basis of an aerodrome have been implemented accordingly.

“I am proud that we can finally hold the official EASA-certification document in our hands. I would like to especially thank my team for their perfect job and the fast implementation of all the requirements needed”, says Michael Günther, Divisional Manager Airport Operations.
