Oneworld-member British Airways is increasing flight connections to London. Beside the flight from Salzburg to London Gatwick (10x/week), BA is also strengthening the connection to London Heathrow (4x/week) and Manchester (once a week). You can also fly from Salzburg via Gatwick to New York (JFK), Bermuda, Bridgetown, Mauritius, Jersey or Malaga, for instance, without changing airports in London. BA offers a broad variety of long distance flights from Salzburg with short connecting times in London, among them being: USA (New York, Boston), Australia (Sydney), Singapore (Singapore), China (Hong Kong), Brazil (Sao Paulo), Argentina (Buenos Aires), South Africa (Johannesburg, Cape Town), India (Delhi, Mumbai), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), United Arab Emirates (Dubai) or Angola (Luanda). It takes a second stop to reach New Zealand (Auckland via Hong Kong), Australia (Melbourne and Perth via Singapore), South Africa (Durban via Johannesburg), Windhoek (Namibia via Johannesburg) and Zimbabwe (Harare via Johannesburg).

The Lufthansa subsidiary, Eurowings, based an aircraft in Salzburg, and successfully started regular operations from January 2017. The flight plan for the upcoming winter season includes the following destinations: Birmingham (NEW: 2x/week), Bremen (NEW: 1/week), Brussels (2x/week), Paris (2x/week), Cologne (daily), Düsseldorf (5x/week), Hamburg (6x/week), Manchester (NEW: 2x/week), London Stanstead (NEW: 4x/week) and London Heathrow (2x/week).

jet2.com has been flying from Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Leeds, London Stanstead and Manchester (this connection was increased to 2 flights per week) to Salzburg for many years. A new flight connection in our winter timetable is Belfast, which is offered once a week on Saturdays.

The British airline Easyjet is operating to Amsterdam, Berlin Schönefeld, Bristol, Hamburg, Liverpool, London Gatwick and Luton.

The low cost carrier Ryanair offers flights to London Stansted as well as Dublin.

Transavia, the Dutch carrier, a subsidiary of Air France/KLM, brings the third network alliance, Skyteam, to Salzburg and offers connections to Amsterdam, Eindhoven and Rotterdam.

Until the end of December, Flyniki will offer flights to the Canaries: Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Grand Canary and Tenferife as well as Mallorca.

Guests from Helsinki are flown to Salzburg by Finnair and Norwegian, however Norwegian flies to Copenhagen (so does Scandinavian Airlines), London Gatwick, Bergen, Gothenburg, Oslo, Stavanger and Stockholm as well. In addition long distance destinations can be reached via hubs like Vienna, Frankfort, London, Istanbul, Düsseldorf or Cologne.

You will also find flights from Russia (Moscow Domodedovo and NEW: St. Petersburg) and Latvia (Riga) to Salzburg with S7 and Air Baltic.

Winter guests will use Salzburg Airport as a central hub to reach their final destination in the Region of Salzburg as well as neighbouring Bavaria. Whether it be winter sports enthusiasts, culture lovers or guests looking for relaxation, the enchanting winter landscape of Salzburg and its surroundings, offers a variety of possibilities for vacation and recovery. The winter season 2017/18 is a very special one, since the “Silent Night”-communities in the Province of Salzburg are celebrating their 200-year-anniversary. Beside the three places of origin Oberndorf, Mariapfarr and Lamprechtshausen-Arnsdorf, also Salzburg, Hallein, Hintersee and Wagrain rank among the memorial sites of the world-famous song “Silent Night”.
