Salzburg Airport achieves record operating performance in 2007

14.07.2008: "With a turnover of 50.4 Mio Euro Salzburg Airport W. A. Mozart, Austria’s most important regional airport, has achieved the best financial performance ever", Commercial CEO Karl Bohl said in a statement during the presentation of the 2007 Annual Report.

After taxes, an extraordinary annual result of € 5,247 million was recorded. The equity ratio rose by 5% compared to the previous year. Dividends of approximately € 2.4 million were paid to the owners. The net cash flow from current business was € 10.2 million. The company employs a workforce of 320 people.

Passenger growth was 3.6% to 1.946 million. Commercial movements were up 1.89% reaching 21.918. Scheduled movements formed the major part reaching 15.370, followed by charter flights with 5.690 movements.

Salzburg Airport is keen to continue its good relationship with the neighbouring population. Given the airport’s sensitive location close to the city, environmental sensibility is one of the major strategic goals of the airport management. Better traffic distribution to avoid traffic peaks on weekends and adjustments of the standard departure and arrival routes are high on the agenda to minimise noise impact.

Roland Hermann, CEO Aviation and Marketing, pointed out that he is looking forward to an increasing cooperation with the tourism and hotel industry in the region to offer year-round attractive packages ranging from culture and skiing to wellness. As Hermann said, strengthening the network connectivity via Vienna, Zurich, Frankfurt and London has high priority.
