After the German carrier Air Berlin announced recently to re-organize its inner-European flights and to give up the connection from Salzburg to Hamburg, Salzburg Airport and easyJet worked together closely to improve the Hamburg-route for 2016.
“We are very pleased that easyJet will expand its route network to Hamburg and thus guarantee a daily flight to the German metropolis. For the Salzburg location German passengers are extremely important, because they do not only come for cultural and business reasons, but in particular for skiing during winter season. Passengers do not only profit from bargain flights on a daily basis from Salzburg to Hamburg, they can enjoy the all-year transport offered in a modern Airbus 320 respectively 319. I´m especially happy that we could compensate for the elimination of Air Berlin- flight connections” says Salzburg Airport CEO, Roland Hermann.
“easyJet already operates successfully 7 routes* to and from Salzburg and will continue to grow in 2016 thanks to a high demand for convenient and affordable flights from Salzburg.
We are happy to announce that starting summer 2016 we will increase the frequency of the Salzburg-Hamburg route reaching a daily flight from 1 May 2016. Our local growth will also be sustained by the launch of the Amsterdam route that started on 18 December 2015.” says Thomas Haagensen, easyJet Country Director Switzerland and Germany.
